Oracle Linux 9.5 display resolution persistence

Leonides CarreonNov 30 2024

I have Oracle Linux 9.5 installed as a guest operating system on VMware Workstation 17 hosted on Windows 11. My host machine has a display resolution of 3840x2160.

When I log into Oracle Linux 9.5, I set the display resolution to 1920x1440 using display settings.

However, when I reboot the Oracle Linux 9.5 machine the display resolution reverts back to 800x600 which is the default display resolution. When I check ~/.config/monitor.xml, it contains the display resolution that I originally set the display to.

How do I make my desired display resolution persistent after reboots?

FYI… the stack trace shows this method as the one responsible for the exception, but not sure how it is trying to determine the local offset.

Oracle.DataAccess.Types.TimeStamp.GetLocalTZOffset()
