We are attempting to setup some Oracle Linux 7.1 UEK kernel VM's on Microsoft Hyper-V 2012R2. It looks like LIS (Microsoft Linux Integration Services) is built in . I am not sure if LIS is current and matching the Hyper-V 2012R2 server LIS version. We have some of the VM's will hang when an Appasure snapshot (using MS VSS) is kicked off. We are wondering it if is related to LIS being out of sync withe the 2012R2 host. It looks like there is less compatibility with 7.1 with UEK kernel vs. Red Hat compatible kernel. Has anyone seen this before and have an idea what to do?
We need to do more testing, to know if hang is even related to LIS but believe so. We tried to install LIS 4.0 into the Oracle UEK kernal and this failed. We were able to successfully install LIS into Oracle RHEL compatible kernel.
Thanks,
Steve
