Oracle Database Discussions

i have tried several times to install oracle on my desktop,but I failed. I am not the kind of person who will give up easily, ok, try again. then today I found out that Repository database must be installed on separate computer from the managed Oracle database.I have to give up as I only have one computer.maybe I was wrong, but it's realy confusing, and oracle just can not suppose everyone is experienced oracle user
