Oracle instance is going to idle when i restart/start the machine

Hi All,

I have installed Oracle 11G in Redhat Enterprise Linux 5(it is installed in VMWARE), when ever i reboot the machine or when i login to the machine , i was able to login to oracle.but the isntance was in <h5>"IDLE"</h5> state .

Please help me what could be the problem , why it is going to idle state each time when l login newly afterthe boot/reboot.
