oracle installation, cannot connect to localhost:5500/em

Hi Guys,

I just installed oracle 10g on enterprise linux but can't connect to the manager.
I open firefox, type in the http:/localhost:5500/em but firefox tells me that it cant connect.
do i need to start the service or something?
