oracle_home on SQL Server window machine

vibha shrivastava-OracleApr 2 2018 — edited Apr 3 2018

Need help urgently.

I am trying to create CREDENTIALSTORE and WALLET using GOLDENGATE 12.3 for SQL Server.

For the very first time when I wanted to do ADD CREDENTIALSTORE ( my <GG_HOME/dircrd> - directory was empty at that time) and no one had ever added CREDENTIALSTORE ( I own this installation), I got this error. "ERROR: Unable to create a new credential store.”

Then I added ORACLE_HOME to one oracle installation on my server. After that when I gave ADD CREDENTIALSTORE command – I was successful in creating credentialstore.

Same thing with wallet. To begin with no one had created wallet and my gg_home/dirwlt directory was empty. When I gave the command “create wallet”  I got error “2018-03-29T17:24:10Z ERROR OGG-06129 Oracle Wallet cannot be created. “ After setting the oracle_home, I was successful in creating wallet.

Looks like both these things require oracle binary as prerequisite. On my production server that hosts SQL SERVER source , I do not have any oracle product installed. So can I not use these features ? Or if you know how to make these features work without adding oracle_home, let me know.

Thanks in advance.
