$ORACLE_HOME on SLES 9 with orarun

495077Mar 17 2006 — edited Mar 20 2006
Hi,

we have just installed Oracle DB 10g on an SLES 9 system. The orarun init script complains about $ORACLE_HOME not being set although we have successfully accomplished all installation steps including running orainstRoot.sh and root.sh.
Does anyone have an idea what we could have done wrong or how to inform the oracle init script about $ORACLE_HOME?

The exact output is:
ORACLE_HOME not set, but I found this in /etc/oratab:

ORACLE_HOME environment variable not set.
Check /etc/profile.d/oracle.sh and /etc/oratab
Cannot find ORACLE_HOME directory .
Environment settings are wrong! Check /etc/profile.d/oracle.sh

Thank you very much in advance.
