Oracle Fuzzy Match Question

SDCraigSep 11 2014 — edited Sep 12 2014

Hello:

I'm re-posting this question from lack of response in other forums.

Could I get please get some clarification on the differences between the fuzzy matching phrase "contains(field, '?searchterm') > 0 versus the phrase "contains('fuzzy(field, searchterm, 60, 100)' > 0"?   Can I assume that since the "?" phrase doesn't include similarity score or number of terms that it defaults to 60, 100?  If so, then both phrases as typed will provide similar results?

Also, what does a search term such as "straw?berry" represent?

Thank you for the assistance.
