Oracle forms close a data block or stop validation

Hello,
I have written some code in CUSTOM.PLL based on WHEN_VALIDATE_RECORD. In a block my error message keeps coming up and it's pretty annoying.
My question is. Is there a way to stop validating the record so that the error message stops coming out. Or at the very least, can I close the window causing this error message to show up (i.e to close the currently displayed window by force).
The form I am having trouble with is the requisition window and it's the PO-Approve block.
Thank you for any ideas.
