Oracle Forms 12.2.1.4 on redhat9

user-n9cawAug 23 2023 — edited Aug 23 2023

We have oracle forms 12.2.1.4 running on redhat7 (enterprise linux 7.9).

Now we are moving to redhat9 (enterprise linux 9.2) and trying to get oracle forms to install.

Always get:

Checking for compat-libcap1-1.10; Not found. Failed
Checking for compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-x86_64; Not found. Failed

Those packages do not exist for redhat9, installation fails.

Oracle support suggests to move to 12.1.1.19 (which would be a lifecycle project which we are trying to avoid at the moment), and in the documentation I see NO redhat9 on the list: https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/developer-tools/forms/12.2.1.19/sysrs/system-requirements-and-specifications.html#GUID-B505E6A0-2B89-48B9-AFFE-CAFFCA4AC0CE

Question: Does oracle forms 12.2.1.4 run on redhat9 at all? Does 12.2.1.19?

In case yes, how to install? I am using the linux-command "fmw_12.2.1.4.0_fr_linux64.bin", is there a parameter to use to ignore the package check.

thx, Tina
