Oracle EM Express login fails

I have installed Oracle Database 18c XE on an Oracle Linux platform. When I try to open the EM Express window (using Firefox) with https://localhost:5500/em, I get the message

Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash

So I downloaded the yum package from Adobe and installed it, and I still get the same message:

Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash

i am stumped and a bit upset -- here's proof the Adobe package is installed:

yum list installed|grep adobe

adobe-release-x86_64.noarch 1.0-1 installed

Need help, please.
