Oracle Designer - Entity Relationship Diagrammer

After opening and logging into "Oracle Designer" where I've installed the repository I open the "Entity Relationship Diagrammer" and select the default container and select OK to continue. My questions are:

(1) Is there a way to import ("or reverse engineer") existing database tables into a ERD for "Oracle Designer"?

(2) What if the tables I want to reverse engineer are not within the database that I created this repository? can I get these into my ERD? or do I have to create a repository in the same database?
