We have migrated our application from oracle forms 6.0 to 11gR2.
Our database version is 10gR2.
Now we are trying to migrate from Forms & Reports 11gR2 to 12c.
After installing oracle forms and reports 12c in a 64 bit client pc we are getting below warning while creating repository utility.
- ERROR - RCU-6002 Prerequisite validation failed. CAUSE - RCU-6002 The minimum requirements to load metadata repository were not met for the specified database. ACTION - RCU-6002 Modify the database configuration to meet the prerequisite requirements. ERROR - RCU-6080 Global prerequisite check failed for the specified database. CAUSE - RCU-6080 Global prerequisite check failed. Check requirement for the specified database. ACTION - RCU-6080 Modify the database configuration to meet the global prerequisite requirements. The selected Oracle Database instance is not certified with this version of Oracle Fusion Middleware. Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c requires Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.4) or higher. For the latest list of certified databases, refer to the Supported System Configurations information on the Oracle Technology Network. The selected Oracle database is not configured to use the AL32UTF8 character set. Oracle strongly recommends using the AL32UTF8 character set for databases that support Oracle Fusion Middleware.
We could not ignore this warning to proceed to next step. And when we read the Oracle DB requirements for Fusion middleware 12c it seems the below database versions are supported.
Database version is:
- Equal to or higher than 11.1.0.7 for 11g databases
- Equal to or higher than 11.2.0.3 for 11g Release 2 databases
- Equal to or higher than 12.1.0.1 for 12c databases
So Can't we use Oracle Forms and Reports 12c with Database 10g ? Do we need to upgrade the Database from 10g to 12c in order to use Oracle forms and reports 12c ?
Or is there any configuration change in the existing 10g DB would let us enable to use forms and reports 12c ?
