Oracle DB from old EMR Software

Need some help. I work for an MSP and have a healthcare client that used to use an EMR software that no longer exists. The only thing their IT guy can provide me is a massive .expdp file and is asking me to find a way to make this data readable. I have been researching for a couple of days and am terribly confused. Until this task was asked of me, I had no clue Oracle had their own proprietary database engine. I'm just not sure where to even begin with this. Since the software doesn't exist anymore, there is no front end to attach to the database to read the data in a user-friendly format(not even sure this will be possible not being able to get ahold of the software) which is precisely what was I was tasked with. From reading Oracle's documentation and numerous forum posts, it doesn't even seem like the file is in the correct format(.expdp) when all forums and documentation point to a .dmp. Can someone help to at least point me in the right direction. All this research seems to be for naught as I'm consistently ending up with 30+ tabs open in my browser. I do not know what the database engine version they were using prior, and since the software and database is gone, there is no option for me to re-export this data. Sorry for being such a noob about this. I just didn't know where else to go as I've been given an unreasonably unrealistic time limit to get this done for someone who has had zero experience with this. I'm a very tech savy person, just no experience at all with Oracle Database.

Thanks in advance.
