Oracle Database Packages and Types Invalid

hi!

how to re-validate 'Oracle Database Packages and Types' component. The current status in DBA_REGISTRY indicates as 'INVALID', modified timestamp as '30-JUN-2012 10:24:40'. While examining the alert log, I found the following entries just before the INVALID status (i assume).

Sat Jun 30 10:24:35 2012
SERVER COMPONENT id=UTLRP_BGN: timestamp=2012-06-30 10:24:35
SERVER COMPONENT id=UTLRP_END: timestamp=2012-06-30 10:24:39

can anyone help on what could have caused the 'INVALID' status suddenly. now, how do i revalidate the component. is it safe to run catproc.sql once again in a restricted session.

database version: 10g SE (10.2.0.4.0)
host server: rhel 5.4 x86_64
