Hi, a few days ago Oracle Database free 23.8 was released for Windows and Linux.
I wanted to report a couple of things that are not consistent on the Get Started page that allows the downloads
a) Virtual Appliance (Virtualbox image with 23ai + APEX + other stuff ready to use) is not updated yet. Probably a message mentioning the version should be added to the page, showing the actual version (or even better, renaming the file included the version):
b) The size and checksum provided on that page does not match the file that is downloaded. If you go to the “Oracle Database 23ai Free VirtualBox Appliance” link that is shown there, it goes to the VA page that shows this details:
And in the download section:
The size and checksum are different than in the main 23ai page, and they are correct here. The file that gets downloaded on both pages matches this set of values.
