Oracle Database Backup Using RMAN error: RMAN-04004 and ORA-00257

Hello Everyone

Happy to New Year to you all.

I ran a scheduled backup successfully for several weeks until after checking the logs one day I receive the following error indicated below.

RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed.

No changes were made to the init.ora file and there is sufficient space in the archive filesystem.

Can someone please assist me in rectifying this problem?
