Oracle Database 12c Standard Edition 2 - Automatic Memory management

34MCA2K2Nov 13 2018 — edited Nov 14 2018

Hi Experts - Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening!

I was going through the documentation however did not find that Automatic Memory management is not enabled for Oracle Database 12c Standard Edition 2. Can I get the confirmation that it is available/not available for Standard edition 2?

Second question- Does it have any limitation? I read in the following link that AMM is not allowed if total physical memory > 4GB. Why is it so?

https://blog.dbi-services.com/12cr2-dbca-automatic-memory-management-and-databasetype/

Third question is if I want to enable it on AWS RDS, are the steps in the following documentation enough or do I need to take some additional steps?

https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/ADMQS/GUID-E6784230-0A0C-443D-8537-36FFA08A7E75.htm#ADMQS12039

Thanks in advance for your time!

Kind Regards,

Rk
