Oracle.DataAccess.dll as part of teh Oracle 10.2 Client

Hi,
I noticed that after doing full Admin install of Oracle Client 10.2 I do get Oracle.DataAccess.dll version 10.2.0.100 in the BIN directory.
Does one need to install ODT 10.2.0.2.20, which creates a separate Oracle Home and adds Oracle.DataAccess.dll version 1.102..2.20?
What are the differences between the version of Oracle.DataAccess that come with the Oracle client and ODT?

I am trying to avoid creating multiple Oracle Homes on my clients' workstations. Is it possible to simply replace Oracle.DataAccess.dll in the existing client installation with the version that comes with ODT 10.2.0.20 (assuming that it has more functionality).
