Oracle Data Modeler - Domains Administration Question

2692859Jun 12 2014 — edited Jun 13 2014

I am have some difficulties using the Domains Administration in ODM. Here is what I am doing.

  1. Created about 6 simple domains to be used as datat ypes in the logical model. Since I did it all using default options, I am assuming that the domains got created in the defaultdomains.xml file.
  2. Used those domains as data types in the logical model.
  3. Saved the model and checked it in to our SVN repository.
  4. I had another member of our team checkout the model into his local directory so that he can view and modify the model.

All looks fine, except for one thing. When he opens the logical model, the domain data types that I used to build the logical model do not show up. All the data types show up as an Unknown datatype.

I tried several things but nothing has worked out yet. Here are some things I have tried...

  1. Tried the checkout process with other users.
  2. Tried importing the default domain file before opening the model. I can see the data types I created, but when the model is opened all the data types show up as unknown.

Can anyone tell me what is it that I am not doing right? Appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks

  -Shiva
