Oracle Coherence Workload Model [Full Cluster Mode Topology vs Proxy*Extend Mode]

user10699632Apr 4 2017 — edited Apr 13 2017

Hi All

Is there an Oracle Coherence Workload Model in which you could input JMX historical measures and Stats metrics

and we could get a result as scalar that says if the cluster will scale better as the number of clients increase

using a proxy*Extend topology or a full Cluster mode Topology?

I am trying to answer a question: what is the best cluster topology in terms of Cluster Performance and

Scalability [Upload Data/download Data/Processing/Querying] as the number of cluster enabled clients increase from 200, 400, 1500, 3000.

Should I move to ProxyExtend  topology or remain in a full TCMP or TMB cluster enabled clients.

Cluster capacity is close to 1TB and client are mostly tasks executed inside a Computing Grid Farm. Tasks executed

inside the Computing Grid Farm could have some delay during execution.

The typical workload implies: executing a lot of distributed queries, gets and entry processors but it's worst Max execution time is close to 1s

inside Coherence. Basically short duration operations in the coherence cluster.

What is the real impact of join/unjoin to a coherence cluster when the number of potential users increase?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Michel
