Oracle Client on Linux

Hi,

I've installed Oracle Client 10.2.0.1 on SuSE 10.2. Here's the hitch: It's only certified for SuSE 9x. Nevertheless, all libraries (rpm's) and correct kernel are present as per the installation instructions.

To start the app, I login to oracle home, navigate to ~/bin> and type 'oemapp console.'

But nothing happens! The prompt simply returns. Considering that all rpm's and kernel are present, shouldn't my app work even though it's certified for a previous version of SuSE?
