Oracle client: gui is necessary?

I'm going to install Oracle Linux 7 Update 3 as virtual machine on ESXi 5.5 and I'll use it only as Oracle client, no database will be created.

I usually install OS as minimal server without GUI so I'd like to understand if GUI was necessary, e.g. to configure Oracle client.
