Oracle Client 12c fail with one or more node names contain invalid characters

user8881675Feb 18 2015 — edited Feb 18 2015

I attempted to install 32-bit Oracle Client 12c release 3 to my Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. The reason I am using 32-bit is because Visual Studio is a 32-bit app. The compile application will be deployed to the server with 64-bit drivers. Any way, The installation failed at the Perform Prerequisite Checks with:

PRVG-11322: One or more node names "xxxx" contains one or more of the following invalid characters ""

The node name contains alphanumeric and hyphens, so I am not sure why it's invalid.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

Paul
