APEX

Hello all,

Hope its okay to post this question here. But I am in the middle of considering a position which involves Oracle Application Express. I have been a Coldfusion programmer for 12 years and this is really the first time I have heard of Oracle Apex. I originally thought this was a position for Salesforce Apex, the recruiter did not make it clear before the interview. But the interview went well enough that they are considering me for the position.

From my limited reading it sounds like Oracle Application Express is a RAD tool. Which is good considering my experience with Coldfusion which is considered an RAD tool as well. And that is about ALL of the knowledge that I have on the "what is it" of Oracle Apex. But to get to the point of my posting, I'd like to get some feed back about Oracle Apex programming positions in general:

1) What are typical salary ranges for Mid and Senior level positions?
2) Is there a sizable niche for Oracle Apex programmers?
3) How enjoyable is the programming experience based on the application/language itself? Compared to Coldfusion, PHP, .Net, Java, Python, etc.
