Oracle APEX - Dynamic action to set value of Radio Group

KatReedJul 16 2019 — edited Jul 16 2019

Hello,

I am using Oracle APEX version 18.2.0.00.12 and I have a question regarding using a dynamic action to set the value of a radio group page item without submitting the page.

Page Item Information:

Identification -

Name: P250_LOCATION

Type: Radio Group

Settings -

Page Action on Selection : None

List of Values -

Type: Static Values

Static Values:

Value 1 Display - Location1

Value 1 Return - Location1

Value 2 Display - Location2

Value 2 Return - Location2

Display Extra Values : No

Display Null Value: No

Dynamic Action Information:

When -

Event: Change

Selection Type: Item(s)

Item(s): P250_LOCATION

True Action:

Identification -

Action: Set Value

Settings -

Set Type: PL/SQL Expression

PL/SQL Expression: V('P250_LOCATION')

Items to Submit: P250_LOCATION

Affected Elements -

Selection Type: Item(s)

Item(s): P250_LOCATION

Execution Options -

Fire on Initialization: No

Problem:

When I run the page and try to change value from Location1 to Location2 or vice versa, multiple "loading" symbols appear and stay on the page, but no change ever occurs. The loading symbols just keep spinning.

The goal is to allow the user to change the location and have that location value set in Session State without the entire page being submitted.

Does anyone know why I am experiencing this problem and how to fix it?
