Oracle 9i Release 1 (9.0.1) On AIX 5

Installation of Oracle 9i Release 1 (9.0.1) Is failing on running rootpre.sh. It complains about a group service subsystem not running. This is linked to a hagsuser account that is supposedly linked to some clustering.

We're not going to be using any cluster server environment. We need the Oracle to load for a single domain environment on the AIX which is version 5( running an IBM eServer p5).

We did not want to consider release 2 at the moment because of a new application that has been running well on release 1. The Software vendor prefers release 1.

Are there patches that would sort out this problem or there are serious compatibility problems between Release 1 (9.0.1) for UNIX Systems and AIX Version 5.
