Oracle 12.1.0 - 32 bit software on 64 bit Windows OS?

rraghu214Oct 11 2015 — edited Oct 12 2015

Hi All,

I have installed DB Server, Oracle 12c Enterprise Edition 12.1.0.1.0- 64bit Production on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I have also installed the client ‘Oracle - 12.1.0.1.0 - 64bit Production’. One of my TIBCO application needs to use the server and client. But it says the client should be with “32-bit Oracle 12c client.”

Need few clarifications

  1. Is it possible to install 32 bit client with a 64 bit server on a 64 bit OS?
  2. I don’t mind uninstalling the 64 bit client so that I can use the 32 bit client software since my product demands such (TIBCO iProcess Engine 11.5.0) .
  3. I extracted the 32 bit client software, ‘instantclient-basic-nt-12.1.0.1.0’ and don’t find any installers or setup.exe. I’m unclear how to use this package that I downloaded (from - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/database12c-win64-download-2297732.html , chose - Oracle Database Client (12.1.0.2.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) à winnt_12102_client32.zip)
  4. Also, could you let me know how to uninstall the Oracle Client 12.1.0.1– 64 bit?

Cheers,
Raghu
