Oracle 11gR2 Authentication with Microsoft AD LDAP Server

user8945099Sep 16 2015 — edited Sep 17 2015

Hi All,

Thanks in Advance

I have a requirement to authenticate Oracle users with Microsoft Active directive LDAP server. My Oracle DB version is 11gR2 running on SunOS.

The SQLPLUS or oracle client should use AD to authenticate to connect to the Oracle Database. The password for the user should be authenticated via AD LDAP. Password should not be stored in the DB.

I know that we can have GLOBAL user configuration in Oracle. So this GLOBAL user can be authenticated via AD LDAP?

Can you please help me on this? My requirement is not to use Oracle Virtual Directory or Oracle Internet Directory. Just use Oracle DB (Linux env) and AD LDAP (Microsoft env).

Thanks in advance

Regards

Santhosh
