Oracle 11gR2 and Java JDK

What are the recommendations for installing Java JDK with Oracle11gR2 11.2.0.3? Is, for example, Java JDK 7 supported in addition to Java JDK 6? And what Oracle11gR2 (core) database features and operations make use of the Java JDK that is installed separate to the version shipped with Oracle11gR2? Thanks.
