Oracle 11g + Windows 7 (64bit)?

Hi everyone,

Thanks in replying to my earlier postings.

Quick question but has anyone been able to install Oracle 11g in Windows 7 (64bit)?

It is an interesting forum. I find different opinion on Win 7 (64 bit) operation for Oracle.

Here are some questions.

1) I find in Oracle 11g (Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64)) download, which ask us to install JDK (64bit) for Oracle 11g to work in Win 7 (64bit). Do we need to install Oracle Database 11g (64bit) with Vista compatibility on win 7 (64bit) PC?

2) Are there any surprises on installing/working with Oracle 11g ( 64bit) on win 7 64 bit?

3) I find that some pieces/components need to be installed as (32 bit) for Oracle 11g to work. What are those?

4) Do we need to install other items in additions to Oracle DB 11g to work ?

5) We like to Install Oracle 11g in home computer (not for production) with Sql Developer and OBIEE 11g. What is the right Oracle 11g version/product work for us?

6) We are not going to use this for production need. Do we need to concern about licensing/FEE on Oracle DB 11g ?

7) I tried to access certification Matrix for win 7 (64bit) using urls of this forum. It ask me to provide support ID. I do not have one. How do we go about?

Thanks in helping me out.
