Oracle 11g R2 - SPFILE location - ASM or file system?

I am looking for best practices fior location of SPFILE for Oracle 11g R2 (11.2.0.3) for non-RAC and for RAC (and RAC One Node).
assume that the rest of the database files (all control files, data files, redo logs, archive logs and FRA, etc) are all on stored ASM disk groups.
if is better to also keep SPFILE on ASM disks or better to keep it on the file system in a standard OFA /u01..... default location ?
does the advice change if its RAC and non-RAC databases ?
