Oracle 11g R2 and ksh

I've just installed [Oracle DB 11g R2|http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/112010_linuxsoft.html] on my linux. In the beginning of the installation Oracle Installer said it wants [pdksh-5.2.14|http://web.cs.mun.ca/~michael/pdksh/] in spite of ksh already present in the system. Shall I mention bash here? Things are a bit worse since the pdksh-5.2.14 was released some 10 years ago so it is quite outdated. I simply don't follow the idea why is Oracle so faithful to ksh?
