Oracle 11g New feature - Info Require

Hi ,
We are planning for the envronment setup .

Considering the memory_target parameter , which need to be set as 12G as server memory is 24 GB.

I have read some articles that memory_target parameter has bug in allocatiing the memory to Oracle parameters.

Did any body come across about this problem . or suggest how best we can allocate the memory parameters?
