Oracle 11g on Linux. Currently in development.
The database will support a website for public access (a couple of hundred users at a given time). I like to get a ballpark feeling of size of the server used to run the Oracle database.
Generally speaking for a website, let's say it is a medium size web application and traffic not as big as the LegalMatch.com and Lawyers.com, what is the concept of a server with 4-core CPUs.
Is it too small to start with? Or minimum the server need to start with 8-core or something like that.
RAM-wise, 8GB, 16 GB ok?
I know sometime it is very difficult to know the exact CPU requirement without the actual running it in the real world. But so long I can get some ballpark estimate, I'll be fine.
Thanks
