Oracle 11g and Pearl.exe + AVG

Up untill a few weeks ago i have never touched oracle sql database software, but it is required for a course i am currently takeing in college. For the past 7 weeks since installing 11g on my Windows 7 laptop, everything has been running fine. Suddenly though, about 30 mins ago, when i booted up my laptop to work on the classwork, AVG poped up saying a threat was detected with "pearl.exe" after following the file-path i found out this was part of the 11g software instillation. Just to be safe (thinking something might have snuck into the 11g software), i told AVG to quarnteen (move to vault) the pearl.exe file.
After doing this, the AVG anti-virus program came up and told me it had successfuly quarnteened the file and gave me a list of everything it did. In that list it told me it deleted 4 files (moved them to quarnteen) and stoped 843!! processes.
After this happend i loaded up SQL again to make sure it worked, and it allowed me to log into the small DB i have on this laptop for the schoolwork to be done with.
Anyone have any knowledge about 11g and this 'pearl' software able to let me know if i need to tell AVG to allow it back (recover). Or should I leave it quarnteened? And just what was going on that had over 800+ processes running?
