Oracle 11g and 12c silent mode installation (root.sh execution within response file)

Hi Experts,

I would like to install oracle 11gr2 and 12c in silent mode and wish to have root.sh execution within response file ( instead of running from another terminal as a root user)

and also in planning to upgrade 11g to 12c using command line.

Please advise if this can be achieved.
