Oracle Database Discussions

Hi All,

I'm getting a little bit frustrated with the installation of the 10G to say the least. Anyway I was hoping for someone to shread some light over my situation. I have installed 10 G and these has turn in to a nightmare, the services that starts including the database and the access to SQL Plus are the following;

OracleJobSchedulerXE, OracleMtsRecoveryService, OracleServiceXE, OracleXECltAgent, OracleXETNSListener.

Here is my issues, I'm trying to connect to "Get to Database Homepage" get the following error: Windows cannot find 'http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex"

next i'm tring to use the command in SQL Plus: "startup" get the following error: ora-01031: "insufficient privileges"
next SQL Plus: "connect" as SYS get the following error: ora-01034: "Oracle not available" and ora-27101; "Shared memory realm does not exist"
trying to change the spfile but for that I need to to have oracle up and running and being connected as SYS admin. I just get "Not connected" all of these commands requires a connection to the server which I don't have, its a moment 22.

Any ideas? I really need this going due to a job that I'm working on that needs to be finished by Monday.
So, anyone that could take a look at this would be much appreciated.
