Oracle 10g Installation on SuSe Linux Enterprise edition 9

762916Mar 26 2010 — edited Mar 26 2010
Dear sir/madam,

I am a bit new to Linux and Oracle.

I have a few questions

1. How can I find out if t1he Oracle supplied by my customer is the correct version.
2. When using the Universal installer, in which window do you see the "Create starter database" since on my version I do not see this. Does this then means I have a standard edition?

The version I am suppose to use is Oracle 10gR2 Database Enterprise Edition.
In the SW I have received, the readme.html is showing is as follow:
Oracle® Database Patch Set Notes
10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) Patch Set 3 for for Linux x86

and they file they have downloaded is as follow: p6810189_10204_Linux-x86-64.zip.

My main problem is during Installation of Oracle the SW identify is that the SW can only be installed into an existing Oracle Database 10g Oracle Home.

Can anybody assist?
Thanks
