oracle 10g installation on linux

Hi
I am trying to install oracle 10g on enterprise linux.My enterprise linux is 2.6.18-164.e15
My oracle version oracle 10.2.0.1.0.
I want to know wheter the linux version will support the oracle 10g or not.
I tried to check the pre reqisites.
I want to know what packages I have to install and how(I tried with rpm installation command,It is saying no file or directory is there)
While creating oracle user and password.It is asking for UNIX password,I didn't have it How to solve it?
How to configure kernel parameters?
