Oracle 10g Data Guard Replication - Help please

560976May 14 2007 — edited Aug 30 2007
Hi,

I am putting in an Oracle 10g solution and will be using dataguard to replicate the redo data across my WAN. I need help in understanding how much bandwidth is required to ensure my redo logs are transferred in the time frame required.

My application automatically processes once every hour (no users). I want to set up synchronous replication so I have zero data loss and the 6-7MB (see below) will need to transferred across the WAN to a secondary like for like database at my DR site.

Total data to send within 5 minutes of every hour: 6-7MB
Total daily data to send (ove 24 hours): 160MB.
Time to send: 6-7MB transfer must complete within 5 minutes

How can i calculate how much bandwith this will consume using data guard?

any help would be appreciated

Cheers
