Hi,

As requested, I am opening a new thread for this problem, with additional details. . . .

I am trying to install 10g on my laptop (Windows XP SP3) and when the universe installer launches in the DOS window, it says that no prerequisites are going to be checked because an ini file is missing and then I get the infamous Microsoft Error window "Send Error Report / Don't Send Error Report" and I can proceed no further. I tried version 11 earlier and it worked fine. But I need version 10g in order for Toad to work.

Additional information:

In DOS window, it states:

Starting Oracle Universal Installer...
No pre-requisite checks found in oraparam.ini, no system pre-requisite checks will be executed.
Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from C:\DOCUME~1\ROBERT~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\OraInstall2008-12-16-07-40-47AM. Please wait . . .

Then I get the Microsoft error window:

oui.exe

oui.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem. yada yada yada

Debug.....Send Error Report......Don't Send

I also rebooted in Safe mode and logged in as Administrator and have the same problem.
