Ora VM 3.2.2 + AMD Opteron 6100 series: hard partitioning
Hello,
I've Ora VM 3.2.2 server on Proliant DL385 G7 with 2 x Opteron 6100 processor.
Please confirm (or disprove) my speculation, that every core, displayed by
"xenpm get-cpu-topology" is really physical core.
Output from this is:
CPU core socket node
CPU0 0 0 0
CPU1 1 0 0
CPU2 2 0 0
CPU3 3 0 0
CPU4 4 0 0
CPU5 5 0 0
CPU6 6 0 1
CPU7 7 0 1
CPU8 8 0 1
CPU9 9 0 1
CPU10 10 0 1
CPU11 11 0 1
CPU12 0 1 2
CPU13 1 1 2
CPU14 2 1 2
CPU15 3 1 2
CPU16 4 1 2
CPU17 5 1 2
CPU18 6 1 3
CPU19 7 1 3
CPU20 8 1 3
CPU21 9 1 3
CPU22 10 1 3
CPU23 11 1 3
When I need virtual guest with 3 CPU, can I use only
3 CPU from this list? Isn't in AMD case avalilable any technology
like "INTEL hyperthreading" (from licensing viewpoint)?
Thank you in advice
