I create a duplicate db on another server, and init files/oracle_home/and directories are mirrored.

ORA-39700 database must be opened with UPGRADE option

My Database shows in mount/startup upgrade:
BANNER
----------------------------------------------------------------
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
CORE 10.2.0.4.0 Production
TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 – Production

I am not sure what has been added, is it possible to run the scripts below without messing up my existing schema. I am going through the sql and do not see much as yet...

Objective to use alter database open without the forced shutdown, and open in upgrade mode etc....

Catproc.sql/catalog.sql – new db
Catupgrd.sql - 9-10g
