ORA-31186: Document contains too many nodes

Hi,

I've done some reading around and from what I can garner there is no workaround or patch for "ORA-31186: Document contains too many nodes" prior to 11g.

Can anyone confirm this?

We have developed an application to download data extracts into a schema defined XMLType column and this is the error we are encountering with live extracts. Can anyone tell me what the actual limit in the number of nodes is?
