Good Morning Folks:
- 11gr2
- ORDS 17.3.0.271.04.17
- TOMCAT 9.0.10
- APEX 18.1
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum and please let me know if I need to move this to another space.
I've experienced the ORA 29278 error a few times over the past couple of years and I've had to accept this since the SMTP server is out of my control and the administrators don't play ball with me.
In any event, my issue is when this occurs I have 200 emails that back up in the mail queue and even if I delete the emails that report that error, all of the other emails stay in queue. Trying to force the mails doesn't work, and the only remedy to get the automated emails back up and running is to restart the DB. Yes, you heard that right, I have to restart my DB instance and then the emails start working again. I know this is a dreadful approach, and hence, I am here on this forum looking for some type of remedy.
I guess the question is this: Is there anyway to re-establish my SMTP connection or get my emails working without having to restart my DB instance?
I really hate having to restart my instance every time this occurs, and I know it is not good practice.
Thanks Much,
Aqua
