ORA-28274: No ORACLE password attribute corresponding to user nickname exists.

I'm getting this message when I'm trying to log into Oracle Database using a User setup within Enterprise Security Manager.

The Oracle documentation is a little vague at this point saying only:

ORA-28274 No ORACLE password attribute corresponding to user nickname exists
Cause: LDAP user entry corresponding to user nickname does not have a ORACLE password attribute or the attribute is not initialized.
Action: Make sure user entries in LDAP are correctly provisioned with correct ORACLE password attribute values.

When the User details are viewed in ESM it appears that an Oracle password has been assigned, if it hasn't it is not clear how to assign one, as there is only a single password management screen.
