ORA-28011: the account will expire soon; change your password now

I realize I ahve an account that is in the Grace Period.
However, when I log in directly (using SQL Pluss or TOAD), I get connected with no Warning or Error message.

However, when I run the following:

SELECT * FROM DUAL@MY_DBLINK; -- MY_DBLINK points to the the same schema I can log into directly.

I get:

ORA-28011: the account will expire soon; change your password now
