ORA-28002: the password will expire ...

I have just implemented password_grace_time 15 to a database. I want to capture any oracle messages such as ora-28002 so that I can present a change password canvas. I'm not sure how to do this. I remember seeing information on creating a custom logon form, and I'm sure I can do it, but I'm not sure how I capture this message.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
