ora-27101 and system reboot? maybe?

223563Jul 30 2007 — edited Jul 30 2007
I'm getting a 27101 on Redhat running 9.2.0.2.0. I've googled this thing and read some of the many entries in this forum regarding this problem. The DB instance was running fine. Then not with error 0ra-01041. After successfully shutting down the listener, it failed to restart (DB was still down). When trying to restart the instance, I get 27101.

The startup uses pfile. ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID are fine. They are the same that I have been using successfully since the instance was first created.

Other observation... the system is running slow in many op system level commands, like "ls". I'm trying (and failing) to put the alert log up an an editor to look around. It's been "trying" for a long time now. Given the nature of some of the oiracle message, and the stalled/slow editor, smells like memory problems.

Q: Do you think it likely that a DB server reboot will clear the Oracle problems?

Thanks in Advance
